Top 5: Low fi music vids

OK Go: Here It Goes Again. All well choreographed and well practiced dance moves make this seem higher budget than it is.

Mickey Avalon: Waiting to Die. Shot with a cell phone.

Beck: Elevator Music. Beck released 2006’s The Information, with a video for every song; most of them low budget.

Snoop Dogg: Sensual Seduction. Worn out VHS tape style.

A Place to Bury Strangers: I Know I’ll See You. Shot using a webcam from the director’s home in LA and the band was in their RV.

I had no idea that Snoop sang ballads? The video perfectly matches how ridiculous the song it.

“We don’t go to the mall.
We don’t go out to eat
All that we ever do is play in the sheets
smoke us a cigarette and go back to sleep”

I love his sense of humor.

    Great post! (go mickey!)

comment#2 … so I watched a Vampire Weekend video on THS. Super low-fi but really charismatic. There may be something to this band after all. I kind of dug the song then.
